The
book is the result of a two years extensive research on the
method developed by Rudolf von Laban and his disciples,
updating and expanding concepts and practices. The method,
internationally used in body-related professions by educators,
artists, therapists, writers, etc, is here applied simultaneously
to movement analysis and technique. The method is placed within
a multimedia artistic viewpoint, intertwining theory, learning
and imagery (animals, architecture, nature, objects, classroom
and performance photos, paintings, etc.) in order to explain
movement principles, exercises and notation symbols in detail.
It travels from classroom to everyday life, movement composition,
stage performances and writing criticism. The book draws Laban
Movement Analysis as a language of movement in
movement.
"Good
news for a child:
In everything, everything you shall have your body in your
favor. The body is always on our side. It is the only thing
that, in the end, does not abandon us."

Lispector (Para Não Esquecer / Not To Forget, 1991)
